Oh a UFO

Garden solar light

The objective was to complete the full reverse‑engineering workflow: 3D scanning the object, rebuilding it as a precise CAD model, and 3D printing it—while taking advantage of a specific surface of the original item to add new geometry onto the existing part

VISION

The concept explores how light can be shaped into a playful illusion, transforming a simple garden light into a moment that surprises and stays with the viewer

Proccess

Selected a product with a distinctive, hard‑to‑replicate form that required 3D scanning rather than traditional manual measuring

Selection

Scanned the object using a HandySCAN 700 Elite handheld 3D scanner

Scanning

Preprocessing

the part was sprayed white to reduce reflections and capture a cleaner, more accurate 3D point cloud during scanning
